Epi info is a useful public-domain program for public health. It was developed by the CDC (Centers for Diseases Control) to build databases for epidemiology with basic statistics, maps and graphics. Many users have developed applications in Epi Info to meet their needs, even when they need to collect information about animal or human health; depending on their experiences and expected results.
The program creates epidemiological maps. It will show the information from the virtual health records graphically, created based on the fields that you prefer. The software uses the formats CHK, REC, QES for storing the data. Nowadays the software is required in multiple College Degrees for the management of epidemiology databases of different diseases, infection factors, vaccination and others. Using this information they use apply it for they practices and studies.
The first version was developed in 1982 for MSDOS; and now the program is supported by almost all of the Microsoft Operating Systems. The software has been translated in many languages. However, if you are using Windows XP, you have to make sure you have SP3. If you don't, you will need to download it from Microsoft. |
